verb: to refrain from labor or exertion, to be in a state of sleep <the patient is currently resting, but as soon as he awakes, I'll tell him you called>
That's what has been going on around here. Both me and the little guy are trying to get some rest. I'm pretty sure it's pneumonia but after we go to the doctor (again) today we'll see. Meanwhile, being home sick and in bed makes me dream of vacation. Here's a page from one of our favorite stops on the crazy road trip that was last summer. The Caribe Orlando. So beautiful, so BIG, so relaxing. Here's hoping everyone feels better soon. Enjoy, Kim

One of my goals this year is to keep up with scrapbooking the events of our daily lives (not just big vacations and birthdays!). This morning was the first term honors breakfasts for the sixth grade. Cassie made Principal's List (straight A's). We are so proud of her. As much as she hates to admit it she is a lot like her big sister Marissa:) Enjoy, Kim

When the girlies where little we never went to Epcot. I just figured it was something they could miss. The one time we did go it was to the priness breakfast in Norway. The first time we went to Disney with T we went with friends of ours who were true Dis addicts. We went to Epcot and it became T's favorite park! Now it's on our 'not to be missed' list. Our favorite restaurant is Teppan Edo in Japan. Our favorite ride is Test Track. Our favorite show is Illuminations. My personal favorite photo op is the shark's mouth at the end of the Finding Nemo Living with the Seas ride. T quite enjoyed himself even if the girls wouldn't wait in line to take the pic. This is probably my favorite layout. We were walking through Hollywood Studios and saw this setup - I got the kiddos to jump up for a pic. This layout is from a Kim Lund kit (love her stuff!). I have collected all sorts of free stuff since I've started scrapping. I go to Suzzee Q's blog every day to check for free papers and kits. I hang out at Two Peas and Mousescrappers for help with finding free kits. I love to look through the gallery at Mousescrappers for inspiration. I tend to be more of a picture scrapbooker (I take so many on our trips, as does both of my daughters!) so I really just collect papers and embellishments (not so many templates and frames). Enjoy, Kim

adventure
verb 1. to risk or hazard.
2. to take the chance of; dare.
Savannah, Georgia. The one stop I picked out that I really wanted to see. Believe it or not, I thought this stop would be all about the girls and that T would be bored silly. I underestimated the little guy! He loved the old towne trolley tour. Loved the buildings, the parks and the pirates - argh;) It was hot, hot, hot - like 106 degrees - but we loved the atmosphere. The old houses, the history, the stories. While we were there we saw all the old buildings converted by Savannah College of Art. Loved them. A definite maybe on Cassie's college list. The city was so polite and friendly it made you want to stay a good long time. The walking was crazy on this part of our trip. The city is built all crazy, up steep steps and down steep steps and cobblestones everywhere. What a workout. I would definitely go back This was the stop that Marissa discovered her love of photography. Each of the girls had brought a camera on the trip and when we were on the trolley tour Marissa got some amazing pics. After that she was hooked! A lot of the images in this scrapbook are hers. Here's one of the pages from Savannah. Enjoy, Kim

Just in case your wondering - Cassie suffered a back fracture in gymnastics so she needed to wear a brace at all times during the trip. Most of the time it was so hot that she had to wear it over her outfit. On occasion she could wear it under:)

At our first stop, the Great Wolf Lodge in Virginia, the kids spent the entire two days (from open to close) swimming at the indoor water park. There were some insane rides (that only Rissa and Cass dared to go on). I really enjoyed our time there and felt like it was a great way to kick off our trip. It was one of T's favorite stops. Here's a page of the kiddos in the water park. Enjoy, Kim

journey
verb to make a journey; travel
We have gone on quite a few family adventures in the past few years. I guess Mike and I feel like Marissa is going off to college soon and everything will change so we are making the most of our little family while we are all together. Marissa and Cassie both have big school trips coming up so we are planning our next big adventure for when school gets out.
Being that we have another summer road trip coming - I need to get on with finishing the scrapbook from last year's road trip. I had a bit of a blink with that - my computer crashed and I lost the first 52 pages I did. I actually cried over this. I managed to find almost all of the pages and returned it to it's (semi) original form - and promptly uploaded all the pages to shutterfly so that I never worry about losing all my work again. I haven't completed a title page yet but I'll share my pages here.
Our first stop - Great Wolf Lodge in Virginia. Enjoy, Kim

heal
heal
v. healed, heal·ing, heals
1. To restore to health or soundness; cure.
2. To set right; repair: healed the rift between us.
3. To restore (a person) to spiritual wholeness.
To become whole and sound; return to healthWell, goodbye to 2011. Don't let the door hit you on the way out. As we enter 2012 I've spent some time thinking about what I want for this year. After a tremendously bad year filled with sickness and stress I picked 'heal' as my one little word for 2012. It represents exactly what I want this year. To heal. My mind, my body and my soul. I plan to explore my word (although I'm not taking Ali's class) in a scrapbook. Here's to 2012 being the year that 2011 should have been.
Loves, Kim
